It is summer. Heat in Delhi has been building up. There was this building that was really worried about its looks and shape. The building is parliament building of India.
“hmm..they say India is a land of marvelous ancient structures, why they have to build me as simple structures..just a round shape..?”
“I know they didn’t give proper time to the architect. They got independence and immediately wanted a parliament building. What would the architect do? Created a simple design using just a compass and a pencil.”
“Or the designer could be an Industrial Engineer. He saw only the utility. Doesn’t cared about my looks. As parliaments are required for delivering speeches and conducting debates, a triangular hall is what required for these thing. Placing a few triangles side-by-side a circle would be created.
This looks like a rational argument..ah? hell with rationality..I am just round shaped..!”
The cries of the building got louder and louder. This became a regular over the few years. God watched this and decided to stop this. Wanted to tell the real reason why it is round in shape.
God went to parliament building, “hello…”
Building said, “ho…hi..aahmm..who are you? Never seen you here, even the last term also you were not here?”
God said, ”I came here to tell you why you are round in shape”
Building said, “Ho..no. don’t dig that now. I am actually feeling quite low now because of this shapr….wow..waw..wa..you said that you will tell me the reason?”
God said, “yeah, thats right”
Building said, “O’ho..tell me…at least I will know the reason and cry”
God said”, what is the shape of sun?”
Building said, “round.”
“planet’s?”
“round.”
“a water droplet’s?”
“round”
“an ovum’s?”
“round.”
God said, “see, all these objects are formed naturally. They are round in shape because they are acted up on by equal force from all directions.”
Building said, “So what? I was built by these guys and its not natural formation.”
“Wait. You are a place where elected representatives from all regions of the country come together. You represent democracy which stands on a pillar called equality. To emphasis equality and to make you symbol of Indian democracy and equality, they decided you would be round in shape”
Building can’t believe what it was hearing and stood dumb founded as God vanished.
It feels so proud even today that it is one of the national building which got it shape right and of course it stopped crying.
